1. Call to order

Mayor Keith Wilson called the meeting to order at 10am.

1. Approval of Agenda

Add item 6.11            Letter from the Town of Athabasca.

Agenda was approved as amended.

The April 16^th, 2013 Council Minutes were approved as presented.

The May Financial Statement will be included at the next Council meeting.

1. Business Arising

 

6.1           Grants

A signed copy of the Federal Gas Tax Fund was received from Alberta Transportation.

6.2         Bylaws

6.2.1      Land Use Bylaw

The Land Use Bylaw will be reviewed by Council in preparation of a detailed discussion at a Fall meeting.

6.3         Removal of Village trees and contractor service

The Village has to be advised of any shoreline work before work begins.

6.4         Roads

6.4.1      County/Village Joint Project

The County received one tender for all work to be done within the County. The tender was way too high. The original bidder did not apply. The County has about 32 kms total and is going to put the work back out to tender.

6.4.2      Winter Maintenance

The Village continues to waits for a response from the County.

6.4.3      Village Roads

Keith Wilson will contact David Gray to discuss the Village main road, perhaps resurfacing entire Baptiste Driver this year, or possibly half this year and the remaining portion next year.

 

6.5         AltaGas Utilities Proposed Installation of Natural Gas Distribution-Peden

AltaGas proposes to complete this work in June.

6.6        Subdivision Application

MOTION:            That the audit for the Summer Village of West Baptiste be adopted as presented.

Council discussed the budget.

MOTION:            That the administrator’s contract be increased $200 per month effective May 1, 2013.
