Mayor Keith Wilson called the meeting to order at 1pm.

6.1   Grants

6.1.1      MSI Capital

Correspondence was received stating that MSI Capital dollars will be received in the amount as previously indicated. With the change in Provincial Government it was not known if the funds would remain the same.

6.2    Land Use Bylaw

Council met with Jane Dauphinee on August 5th. This was a very informative session. Jane will be conducting an open house on August 8th to update residents on progress made to date. Another meeting with Council will be planned possibly in October.

6.3     LUB and Open House meetings

These meetings will be held August 8th in the Firehall. Notification as been placed in the Athabasca Advocate, on the Village web site, the Village bulletin board and the Spring newsletter.

6.4     Athabasca Regional Waste

This was discussed at some length.

 

MOTION:            THAT the Summer Village of West Baptiste contemplate commission membership contingent upon a signed agreement between the Waste Management Commission and the Summer Village addressing Waste Management Services to be provided. The agreement shall contain a clause setting out a funding formula for the annual requisition that is based upon the equalized assessment of participating municipalities.

A letter will be sent to Robert Smith, Commission Manager Athabasca Regional Waste
Management Services Commission, informing him of Council’s motion.

6.5     Driveway 827 Baptiste Dr

Council previously met with the owner.   Councillors Wilson and Tomaszyk will visit property following this meeting and then discuss with the Village contractor,

6.6     Councillors’ Reports

Mayor Wilson and Deputy Mayor Tomaszyk attended a meeting with other Village council members to discuss the waste management commission.
