6.1 Grants
6.1.1 Alberta Community Partnership Program
The Summer Village of Whispering Hills was awarded $25,000 under the Intermunicipal Collaboration component in support of the Watershed Plan project. The Village of West Baptiste supported this application.

6.1.2 Federal Gas Tax Fund
The FGTF. In the amount of $7,803, will be awarded again this year.
6.1.3 MSI Funding
The Municipal Sustainability Initiative program has been extended for two years. An Amending Memorandum of Agreement has been signed ensuring payment of the 2017 funding allocations.
6.2 Audit
MOTION: That the Summer Village of West Baptiste approve the Auditor’s report as received.

6.3 Grass Cutting 2017
There were 4 bids received. Ed Tomaszyk refrained from any discussion as there would be pecuniary interest.
MOTION: That the grass cutting contract be awarded to Bob Driver. This being a 3 year contract.

6.4 Roads
Keith Wilson spoke with David Gray, Gray Enterprises Ltd. David has a fair bit of road work this summer. Work will depend on the weather. Council has budgeted $200k for road work as MSI funds have a time period to be spent. Plans on to spend $185K on Baptiste Dr within the Village; and, to offer $15K to Athabasca County toward repairs on its portion of Baptiste Dr.
6.5 Sewage Compliance
Two bids were received.
MOTION: That the Summer Village of West Baptiste award the contract to Patry
Contracting.

6.7 Water Levels of Baptiste Lake
Keith Wilson has had discussions with Dennis Irving, Mayor of the Summer Village of Whispering Hills. Mayor Irving indicated discussions with the Hutterite Colony will take place regarding beaver damns. Then discussions will be held with Fish and Wild Life. Hopefully decisions will be soon. Ed Tomaszyk, along with Don Kvill and Robert Holmberg walked the creek and found no damns.
6.8 Policing
An email was received from Keith Wilson of Wilson Law Office regarding the number of break ins. Mayor Wilson will be contacting the RCMP and Keith Wilson. Offering a reward was discussed.
MOTION: That the Summer Village of West Baptiste offer a one thousand dollar reward in the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for break ins in the Summer Village.

6.9 Councillors’ Reports
BAILS meeting dates are listed on the Village website. The joint meeting of Summer Villages within the area, is scheduled for May 27th. Break ins/policing will be discussed.
