Approval for a $15,000 donation from MSI Funds was received.

  • Alberta Community Partnership (ACP) program

A cheque in the amount of $74,000 was received.

  • MSI Memorandum of Agreement

An amended agreement was been signed.

 

  • BAILS

This item will be brought forward to next Council Meeting.

  • Audit Report; Motion appointing Auditor

MOTION:            That the Summer Village of West Baptiste approve the 2018 Audit report as submitted.

MOTION:            That the Summer Village of West Baptiste appoint Seniuk and Company  as the Village Auditor for 2019.

  • Financial Institution – Motion Approving

MOTION:            That the Alberta Treasury Branch be appointed as the Village financial institution.

  • Swimming Pool Presentation of cheque May 6, 30 or June 11 or 27

Council agreed on June 27th to present the $15,000 cheque. The Administrator will contact Larry Armfelt, Athabasca County Reeve.

 

  • Meeting with Municipal Planning Services

A meeting was held with MPS to discuss preparation for the Municipal Government Act requirements.

MOTION: That Mayor Keith Wilson and Councillor Linda Cargill, together with the Village Administrator be the Summer Village Representatives for the Municipal Development Plan (MDP), the Inter-municipal Development Plan (IDP and Inter-municipal Collaboration Frameworks (ICFs).

  • Liability Policy

This item will be brought back to the next Council meeting. It will be discussed as a Bylaw versus a Policy.

  • Annual Open House

The Annual Open House was discussed. It will be held at the Firehall July 13th at 10am.

  • Meeting of Summer Villages and Athabasca County

The Summer Village will be hosting the next meeting to be held May 25th at the Firehall.

  • Newsletter

The newsletter will be mailed to residents the first week of May.

  • MGA
    • Grant ICF (Inter-municipal Collaboration Framework) and IDP(Inter-municipal Development Plan) – Managing of Grant funds

This grant will be managed by the West Baptiste administrator and will include Sunset Beach, South Baptiste, West Baptiste and Athabasca County.

  • Roads

Mayor Wilson will be contacting David Gray to discuss any road work required for this year.

  • Creek Damage

Funds will be budgeted.

  • Athabasca Watershed

A letter from Athabasca Watershed was received requesting the Village take out a membership. Since the Village is a member of BAILS, and BAILS has membership it was decided that a membership was not necessary.

  • Budget

Budget was discussed. Budget meeting will be held May 18th, 4pm at the Firehall.
